Faculty and administrators from
Bates College, Dickinson College, and Williams College will be at Georgia Tech
on the morning of October 27, 2014, to recruit potential faculty across a wide
variety of disciplines from several metro-Atlanta area universities. These
three institutions are part of a larger consortium of more than 20 liberal arts
colleges (known as LADO: Liberal Arts Colleges with Diversity Officers) with an
interest in recruiting talented new faculty. Across this consortium of schools,
there were ~ 115 tenure track faculty openings last year, and there are ~125
tenure track openings currently being advertised for the 2015-16 academic year
(along with roughly two dozen fellowship and post-doctoral opportunities). We
encourage graduate students and post-docs, even if they are not yet on the job
market, to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about careers at liberal
arts colleges generally, and to get specific advice about how to prepare for
the application process in advance as well as when you are actually
ready to enter the job market.
