Teaching Opportunity: Alexander Academy

Position:

•   $30 an hour

•   1 day a week (Saturday or Sunday), 2-4 hours

•   August - November

•   1 week training session the first week of August

Instructors teach courses in pairs. This allows them to specialize in either the Math/Science or English sections of the test. Each pair of instructors teaches one or two classes a semester. Class are held at Georgia Tech and are typically on Saturday mornings 10:30-12:30 or Sunday afternoons 4-6. Instructors will be provided with course materials and a curriculum. 10-15 students per class on average.

Requirements

•   Strong scores on either the SAT or ACT

•   Communication skills, teaching experience

Alexander Academy started 3 years ago with just two teachers (Matt and Kevin) and a single class of 15 students. After five great semesters and 300+ students, the word is spreading about our courses. This year the company is expanding in a big way, adding 5-10 new instructors, working with schools like Pace and Lovett, and launching a new website in the Fall.
